Dear mom2sweet4,
I do not have experience scheduling two MFW curriculums and preschoolers. I DO have experience scheduling MFW K with a K child and younger ones. I think this might benefit.
You can schedule this curriculum several different ways. 1.) block off time to work with your k child alone while the preschoolers are occupied. 2.) block off time to do the phonics/writing/ math/workbook with your k child alone and include the younger ones in the activity guide portion.(They will all benefit from this!) 3.) Allow the four and two year old to sit at the table with you during the K's seatwork for a portion of the time and have playtime/roomtime for the other portion. Do the activiy part together. The younger children could use lauri toys or color. (my almost four loves beans in a tupperware with a scoop and truck, etc.) You would want to break up the seat work and activity guide with this option. It will be too much for the younger children I believe. (disadvantage of this: your K might have trouble concentrating if the younger ones interrupt)
Amazingly, children can learn this curriculum at all levels. My two year sings the entire alphabet song with sounds. My one year old baby's first "words" were b,b, b when we sang through the flashcards! I share this to pinpoint some of the benefits of including the younger children into the program. All the children can glean from the character portion of the curriculum. However, you have to know your own limitations and what will stress/overwhelm you with teaching.
By the way, the four year old could probably do this curriculum alongside the K child at their own level.
I hope this helps.
I am not sure how this would fit in with scheduling adventures and the core academics for the older children. Maybe it will give you some ideas to work with.
Blessings, Rebecca
